Safety
PICKL is built so you can find people to play with. That means meeting strangers, and it means deciding how much of yourself to share.
Meeting people to play
- Play at a public venue the first time. Open play sessions and clinics are the easiest way in.
- Tell someone where you are going and when you expect to be back.
- Arrange your own transport there and back.
- If something feels off, leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation or a rematch.
What PICKL does not know about you
There is no field anywhere in PICKL for your home address, and we do not track your location in the background. Your profile carries a city, nothing finer. A check-in only exists because you tapped Check In, it goes to the audience you chose, and it expires on its own.
Tools you control
- Mute — you stop seeing them. They are never told, and nothing is restricted for them.
- Block — they cannot see your profile, message you, mention you, challenge you or ask to connect. They are never told they were blocked.
- Report — private, and the person reported is never told who reported them.
- Audience controls — set who can message you, who can challenge you, and who sees each post.
- Limited profile — restricts your profile to followers and connections, and removes it from search engines.
All of these are in Settings → Privacy and Settings → Blocked, and blocking and reporting are one tap from every post.
If someone is in danger
Contact your local emergency services first. PICKL is not an emergency service and cannot respond in real time. Once anyone immediately at risk is safe, report the account so we can act on it.
Injuries and health
Pickleball is a sport and sports cause injuries. Nothing on PICKL — including anything posted by a coach — is medical advice. If something hurts, see someone qualified rather than a comment thread.
